CNC Guild - Version 2 || Mod Review - Fallen Angels 1.0 (RA2)

This happened to be one of the earliest mods I ever downloaded. And straight away I came to a niggle. The ecachemd.mix and expandmd.mix were wrongly named ecache.mix and expand.mix. However, simply rename them and you'll be fine.

The mod simply replaces the German side with a new force called the Fallen Angels. It also enhances the other three sides to cope with what the Fallen Angels throws at them.

In fact, it enhances the sides in all the right ways. Yuri gets some half-decent armour, Soviets get the wonderful Cosmonaut, the Hind and the Flamer, a cute anti-infantry unit. The Allies get a sweet B2 Bomber (sure, it's been done, but it's nice anyway) and the Howitzer.

The Fallen Angels, being a whole new side, need some sweet techs to take on their foes. And this they certainly have. Plentuy of variety, although I suspect most of the new units have been downloaded, not made 'in-house'. No real problem with this, except the odd unit looks a tad out of place, or has been seen elsewhere.
Most of the FA's buildings look very similar to the Allied side, which isn't so bad because they are supposed to be the Germans who broke away.

No real bugs to speak of, except maybe for General Stratos, the FA hero unit. He seems to cause internal errors.

One thing I would say is to get in some new voice packs. Maybe some TD, TS or RA1 voices would really spritz the side up and bring in a novel flavour only really seen in serious mods, such as DeeZire and the like, not amateur mods such as this. To add those voices would easily add a mark or two.

One problem is that this mod doesn't seem to have a site. You may see it on the odd site elsewhere, but they are very few and far between. For a fairly fun blast when you want a change from the norm, it's worth seeking out. Not the best mod ever seen, but by no means the worst either.
