Article - Right, that does it! - Posted on 05 Sep 2003 by Comrade
Jerkov |
|
|
I've
about had it with this crap, and so has the rest of the Guild staff.
After Des0 has given the truth below, I think it's about time to expose a few other truths about Cannis, and his network:
1) Remember Spidey? Remember Rich181? Yep, Cannis has betrayed them big-time.
He has abused intellectual property rights (IE: A product belongs to its
creator unless a contract is signed between the creator and the person(s)
who requested the product). This means that stuff made by Spidey and Rich
can be submitted to whoever they damn well like. They may, if they wish,
submit stuff to the Guild or a Guild-Hosted site (which they did, or were
on suspicion of doing, so Cannis decided to betray them all due to jealousy).
2) Cannis has resorted to blackmailing in his hell-bent attempts to destroy
us. He threatened to expose a group of incidents that had been long since
rectified if a certain forum member did not post a certain thing. Blackmail
is never an acceptable thing. Especially over something that technically
does not belong to him.
3) Cannis seems to have this fixation over a certain few events, and also
that he has 'nothing to apologise for'. I'm sorry, but he does. I admit
we are no angels, but the sun does not shine out of Cannis' arse either.
He is as guilty of: Theft, Treachery, Blackmail, Untrustworthiness and generally
causing agro over the smallest thing that could be resolved simply by e-mailing
ANY admin and saying "Hey, X thing seems to be stolen.". Despite what Cannis
thinks, we do not condone stealing, nor are we omnipresent. We make mistakes,
we miss things. So don't take it out on us if 1 thing happens to be out
of place. We would deal with it with all due haste if we found something
be stolen.
4) There have been many impersonations on Cannis' board that seem to attempt
shit-stirring. This means, flaring the whole thing up unnecessarily. It
was not any of us. We've had god knows how many fake Des0s, some fake Fenrings,
etc in various shoutboxes and forums throughout the community.
We even have what seems to be a major C-GEN member registering as 'Archie' (we know it's a C-GEN hosted member because we have been tracking the IP. We know who you are. Banshee and Tratos will back me up on this one) and flaming the hell out of us when we as admins and as a main site have done little/nothing wrong, except make an error in judgment. I can safely stake my life that Cannis has done such things, and one of them is sure to be the public bashing of our Guild in his news. I refuse to allow this bull to be spread beyond where it is needed to be.
5)We wanted this 'feud' to end. Cannis seems to be stringing it out for
all he is worth. We have endeavoured on countless occasions to try to cordialise
our relationship with CGEN (even to the point of giving CNC Guild a pet
name: We Hate Cannis Guild). We didn't hate you. You're just giving us reasons
to. |

Article - The 'Stealing' must stop - 'Request by Cannis' - Posted on 05
Sep 2003 by Des08tor |
|
|
Cannis has posted on C-GEN this following message.
'This news post serves as a public demand that CNC Guild stop stealing, and that the RA2 Des08tor: Yuri's Return mod be removed immediately. This blatant stealing must stop. I find no reason to work hard to create new original assets for CannisRules only to see them stolen by a site whose members are too lazy to make their own. I would imagine that anyone in this community who actually contributes to this community would feel the same. Asset thieves are parasites who steal from us all.'
I have had enough of cannis' moaning and groining and clever attempts to make us look bad. After all the attempts I have tried to sort this situation, Cannis still continues it and blames me for it.
Cannis gave me specific permission saying directly to me, I could use those assets in my Mod. He is now lying that he did not and trying to make us looks like theives.
WE ARE NOT THIEVES! Do not listen to Cannis' crap. I am removing my mod
from download then removing those units and reuploading it. I am not going
to let him try to bring us down to his level, as he has been trying to do
for the last 6 months because he is jealous.
His attitude is sad and sickening. I have almost tried everyway to apoligize
and 'make-up' but he does not want too, he says he is not interested in
this 'feud.' Well for someone who is not interested, hes doing a pretty
good job at keeping it goes. E.G. Creating fake accounts on his forum and
pretending they are me. This 'Feud' is all that keeps his site alive. IT'S
ALL THEY TALK ABOUT. IT'S ALL THEY WANT TO TALK ABOUT!
Cannis has made me post publicly. Fire with Fire I now say.
Uplink Mods has also closed as this is what started this newest issue off.
It did have some of Cannis' assets in, which we did not know about. It is
now closed and gone for good! Yet cannis is still trying to make an issue
out of it, saying we took too long to respond to have it removed. I WAS
AWAY YOU RETARD AND YOU KNOW IT!
I cannot be bothered to explain any longer. Cannis is doing the best he
can to make us look bad and shut the Guild down because he knows we are
better than him! But it will not happen. I will just leave Cannis, and this
time I will stick to what I say. I will let him try his petty attempts to
destroy one of the biggest RA2/YR Editing community in the community, but
he will not succeed.
Cannis is just spreading humongeous lies about us and our network, we NEVER
EVER approved stealing, here and when RA2MG there were also facts like these,
a site that hosted NOTHING BUT stolen materials, we all protested heavily
against it, and I and the whole CNC Guild team still share that opinion.
Cannis I have 2 words, Fuck You! |

Article - Must...Save...Open-Source software! - Posted on 02 Sep 2003
by Comrade
Jerkov |
|
|
Totally unrelated to anything TA, but I still think it's necessary word gets out:
Sign this Petition to help prevent the passing of a law that will a: Outlaw Open Source software (Linux, UNIX and God only knows what else) and also b: Keep the Internet going. A certain program called Apache, which is Open-Source, is responsible for keeping between 98 and 100% of the Internet afloat, and it is Open-Source.
CANNOT LET MICROSOFT GET THIS LAW PASSED! HELP STOP IT, FOR THE WORLD'S SAKE! |
